The Client

Created in May 2002, Innovapost Inc. is jointly owned by Canada Post Corporation and CGI Group Inc.

Innovapost provides IS/IT services, including eBusiness solutions, to the Canada Post group of companies and postal organizations worldwide.

Retail Services Platform (RSP)

Project Description:

In 2003, Innovapost proposed a new initiative to Canada Post that would integrate 3rd party services with Canada Post's new Point-of-Sale system (jointly developed by Canada Post and bitHeads), via a central web services broker, the Retail Services Platform (RSP).

Innovapost called upon bitHeads to lead the development of the new platform and implement the first service, MoneyGram.

The bitHeads Solution:

Working as an extension of the Innnovapost core team, bitHeads provided end-to-end, custom software development services to develop the new platform.

bitHeads was responsible for requirements analysis, architectural design, detailed design, development, quality control and the management of the overall team, including several Innovapost resources.

Results:

The new platform was released on time in April 2004. It was successfully deployed in 1,000 outlets across Canada and is currently responsible for millions of dollars in transactions each month.

bitHeads continues to provide development and support services to Innovapost and its clients.
